Keanu Reeves is easily one of the most badass characters the cinema world has seen in a long time.

Keanu Reeves performances in John Wick, John Wick Chapter 2, and John Wick 3 are very memorable as he mows down anything or anyone who gets in his way.

It is said that Chuck Noris himself has handed over the keys of awesomeness to Keanu Reeves.

To become a legend bigger than life itself, Keanu Reeves had to be in the best shape of his life!

In all the movies featuring John Wick, Keanu Reeves did all the stunts and some of them would require him to take quite the beating and required him to have his fitness levels fairly high!

As you can see “John Wick” has a powerful physique even though he is a little more seasoned in life!

Throughout his years of doing action movies his fitness routines have included martial arts training in
 jujutsu, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, and standing judo!

All that training definitely shows in each of his movies he has featured in!

Mr. Reeves isn’t as young as he was in the Matrix movies and the focus of his workouts nowadays are to stay fit, prevent injury, and protect his joints!

“Keanu’s body was put through the wringer,” says his trainer, Patrick Murphy. “I had to implement the safest, most effective program possible.” To accomplish that, Murphy made heavy use of bands.

Again Keanu wasn’t trying to pack on muscle, he was trying to get toned, build crazy endurance, and prevent injury to the knees, joints, and other structures so he would be ready for John Wick 3.

Men’s Health went in depth and found out his exact routine to prepare for John Wick 3.

The workout he used was a circuit that involved the use of bands, dumbbells, and compound movements.

Keanu Reeves John Wick Circuit Workout

Perform 20 reps of each exercise consecutively as a circuit, with as little rest as possible between moves. After finishing the round, rest for 2 minutes. Repeat for 6 total rounds.

  • Reverse Lunge Front DB Raise
  • Bosu Lunge Shoulder Press
  • Reverse-Step Resistance Band Row
  • Squat with TRX Shoulder Iso-Hold
  • Stability Ball Dynamic Plank
  • Banded Lateral Walk Pallof Press

Keanu’s diet is also fairly simple.

It’s not anything crazy or along the lines of some of the fad diets that come out every week.

He likes to have low sodium, low fat, and the night before a big fight sequence he eats a nice big New York Steak with the fat trimmed off.

You may not be Keanu Reeves, but you can still workout like him!

This John Wick workout is to gain endurance, get toned, and help guard your muscles and joints from injury.
